Social Wellness Tips to Support Relationships and Healthy Eating For a Strong Immune System ~
Social wellness is about becoming aware of the importance of your role in society as a whole, and especially in your community, and is much more than just keeping up with your social media accounts.
A healthy eating lifestyle also plays a large part in social wellness. When you are eating nutritious meals, your entire body is able to cope with stress in a healthy way, you optimize your immune system and fight off depression by releasing endorphins (the happy hormones) to keep you feeling positive and upbeat. Since endorphins act on the opiate receptors in our brains, they reduce pain and boost pleasure, resulting in a feeling of well-being.
Those who are socially isolated are known to suffer from depression, chronic illnesses and inflammations. On the other hand, staying socially active has the following benefits:
